Rev-limiter issue

Rev-limiter issue
I have a 1999 3.2 TL and I think something is wrong with my limiter. When I first start the car, the rev limiter doesn't kick in until around 6500-6700. However, after about 3-5 minutes of driving the rev limiter kicks in at 5000-5500, but the power dies at 4500.
Someone PLEASE help me. I have no idea whats going on but I dont like being robbed of revs.

For me, Vtec engage at 5000rpm like usual, but rev limiter kicked in at 5500rpm...
Took it again today, nothing... works perfect... so definitely not a big mechanical problem... more like a secure mode, or preventive.... etc... No CEL
3.2TL Type-S 2002

2nd your 99 vtec should engage around 3900.
The only way to get rid of the problem is to find out what is causing it.

You may want to try to have a code read. There may be one being stored.
How does it shift, How does the motor run? smooth? Have you checked the air filter to make sure nothing is clogging it and installed properly? Have you looked under the hood to see if there are any loose hoses or wires that may not be attached?
