Restart problem
Restart problem
Hi,
1999 3.2 TL doesn't like to start again if I have been running it for more than an hour and it has subsequently been off for 15-45 minutes. I recently saw the small green L screw cap was off of the large top side hose from near the dash (this is a long large hose from below the radiator up to the dash area). So I went ahead and screwed it back on. The AC/heater is also finicky sometimes. Is this a thermostat issue? Is there vapor lock or something? Thanks for any advice.

Hot start problem sounds like flaky 'main relay' which needs solder joints reflowed.
Everything there is to know about your Honda/Acura main relay:
How the Main Relay works
When the Main Relay goes bad
For the heater problem, check the inline valve at the firewall on the passenger side, as it likes to stick.

Replaced the entire main relay a couple of weeks ago but it hasn't fixed the problem. The engine sign is constantly on (which was identified as a emissions issue that I shouldn't really worry about) and I am wondering about fans and/or the thermostat? Also the timing belt hasn't been replace, maybe that has something to do with it.
Would using higher grade fuel help?
For the heater problem, it really is just a front windshield defroster problem which has been identified as a pretty expensive fan motor that needs replacement.
Thanks for any assistance!!
