I need to replace the leaking rear view mirror on my 2002 TL. Are the new ones from the dealer any better or can they still leak. Anyone have a replacement leak?

Hey Stratshtr, Your leaky mirror needs replaced asap.
The new OEM mirrors are to be of an improved design, but it'll take another 10 years to know for sure if they are actually better than the original mirror.

 

btw, look at to buying an OEM replacement online instead of from your local dealer--it may be a better deal. I think I got mine around $80 online when dealer wanted $120.

 

I already pulled it off. I'm lucky, my local dealer will match internet prices so I can get one tomorrow. They replace so many they have one in stock.

im pretty sure if you call the vendor directly they replace it for free

 

Don't think that you're going to get the "OEM" original replaced for free anymore. They did replace them a few years back, but now with over 10 years since they rolled off the assembly line......you're on your own now.

If you had replaced the original and it went bad, then you may have better luck at a freebie with documentation receipts in hand.
