Rear Seat Prob

My rear seat, bottom) won't stay clipped in on one side. I can get it to click in, but it keeps popping out.

Tried the removal/ reseating of seat, but it seems that the female part won't hold the U on the seat bottom.

Been looking around for the clip repplacement, but haven't a clue what it is called

Guess I am glad nobody else is experiencing this issue!

Anyone know what the part is called or where I can view a list of TL parts that might let me know what it is? Local dealer faxed me a "Interior/ bumper s0k3-b4100 A" sheet that doesn't show it...

I just bought an '03 last month and I noticed when I was cleaning the leather that the back seat bottom wasn't fastened securely. I snapped it back a few times but it seemd to come undone again and again. I lifted it up and saw that the seatbelt was under the seat instead of sticking through the appropriate slot in the seat bottom. This seems to have cured it for now. I haven;t messed with it since i did that because I just got the car back after getting a new tranny (10 days) I will check it out maybe on lunch and see if it is still doing this.

No it should be a separate part that slips into the chassis of the car thats plastic.

Also 9 is only the leather cover

??? What this guy is looking for is teh piece that helps attach the front of the seat down. That bolt is what holds it inplace in the rear.

i had the same problem.
did the plastic snapin clip come out with the seat bottom?
if so...u have to take it off the seat and snap back into the chassis...then press the seat back down into the clip.
the clip won't seat properly while it is still on the seat bottom.

And I just fixed mine yesterday, The seat has now been in its proper place for 24+ hours...woohoo!!

Of course, there is now a new problem: I parked (at dealership) next to an 07 TLS w/ 6sp M/T and decided to take it for a test drive. SO the $1+ part is gonna cost me another $16k!!

F! My seat popped up again. Anyone have any thoughts on what the prob could be? The metal piece in the seat does not appear deformed at all

It appears to me your bottom seat is the problem, probably twisted or so, not the clips. I think you should take the bottom seat outside and bend it properly so that it sits flat correctly. once you have it back in, it should stay in its place, and the clips are just there to help it from rattling.

Verrry interesting theory! that side of the bench does seem like there is something spring-like that puts upward pressure on the driver's side...not found on the other side. Made an appt to leave the TL @ the stealership tonite tho...Hpoing they'll want to do the crank pulley for $100 while it is there

LOOK AT THE BIG BRAIN ON ACUTEE

Had my car at the Dealership (no longer the Stealership- I'll post moron that separately) and they said my foam is funny. Somehow, it is is bent so much that the upward pressure is > clip's holding power. They have ordered me new foam and I believe they are going to wrap it with my old leather.
