Rack replaced now Steering Wheel Cruise & Stereo buttons wont work

Hi there, I have a 2003 Tls and just had someone replace the rack and pinion but none of the controls work on the steering wheel now. I'm assuming there is some kind of wire/plug that may not have been plugged back in? Also, the SRS light is on now. Trying to figure the problem on my own.

sounds like thats what happened, may not have disconnected battery??
which freaks out the SRS airbag system

if `someone` is a shop, take it back
otherwise grab a flashlight and look for whats dangling in the wire harness

If the steering wheel was moved any more than a couple turns with the rack out, the clock spring [cable reel] is probably broken. This would also cause all your symptoms.

That's a pretty shitty job if they messed that up. I would take it back.

The steering wheel wasn't removed. Someone mentioned there's a tiny piece in the steering wheel that can get broken. said the part new is like $150.00. Trying to find out what that part is called. I noticed the steering wheel doesn't lock either.

you probably broke the tape that the rack uses... it happens when the rack is changed and the steering wheel is turned to many sides to one side because the tape isnt long enough so it breaks
