question
just replaced the switch, and everything is good to go, but when I went to reassmble everything the protective case (with the mystery screw) that went around the previous switch wouldn't go over the wires of the new switch. I tried flipping the switch to run it underneath the case, I tried threading it through, it just doesn't work. I was wondering if that case is absolutely necessary, or if I'll be fine without it. Right now it's running just fine without it, but I don't want to get on the road, and have something stupid happen. thanks fellas
Hi Rhino :
I didn't have an issue with cable clearances. I just moved the cable bundles around until they fit. It is quite packed in there but it should all fit back together.
As for running without the cable cover on, it depends on how much risk you want to take, keeping in mind that this is a part of the car that is always in motion. You might catch a wire or rub through insulation and short something.
Again, I didn't have this issue....can you provide pics ?
