Problem w/IMRC valve after EGR cleaning

Decided to take-apart and clean the IM.

Everything was fine until I tried to reinstall the IRMC valve.
As the following picture illustrates, there is clearence between the stopper and the screw when there should be none.

The only way to fully close it is manually, as pictured below.

How do I fix this?

PS. The cars idles a tad bit higher than normal, otherwise it runs fine.

I don't have mine hooked up, but I am almost positive there is supposed to be a slight gap like you've shown.

You are ok.

I just checked and there isn't a gap.

Also looks like you have slack in the cable, so my guess is the spring is bad maybe?

Yea thats what I was thinking, a bad spring, dosen't seem to affect the car at all, what is the function of this part anyway?

Did you take the IMRC OFF the im when you cleaned it? If so is it installed correctly?, remove the upper IM cover and make sure the rubber seal isnt blocking it, or hanging in the way
