Problem with my fuel gauge

I own a 00 Acura 3.2 TL and the today I went to a gas station that I normally don't use and filled up. I left the gas station and the gauge read full. Then I parked at a friends house, turned off the car, after I was done I left there and as I was driving, (about 15 mins later) I noticed that the gas gauge read empty and the warning light was on. (Empty like when you have the car off, all the way down) After turning the car off and then on again a few times and checking to see if I was leaking gas, still no change on the gauge and light and I am not leaking...any ideas? thank you in advance.

Most likely you have a sending unit(the part that reads the fuel level) bad in the tank.
