Power steering problem? please help.

Recently whenever I turn the steering wheel it seems there is a pump around the engine that sounds like it's accelerating.

Wondering if this could be a problem? the power steering fluid is full.

Also, on the driver side, there seems to be some sort of creaking noise, it doesn't happen when I'm driving straight, sometimes over bumps, sometimes when I steer.

Anyone know what these symptoms sounds like? would it be expensive to fix?

Make: 2000 Acura TL 3.2

What mileage is your TL? I would replace the PS fluid if over 75K miles, before spending any other $$$. Use ONLY Honda/Acura fluid.

You can easily replace the fluid with a turkey baster purchased at a dollar store. Suck out the old, pump in the new. Drive a while. Repeat until you have installed 2 - 12 oz bottles of Honda fluid.

It's a little more work, but you can replace all the fluid at once if you disconnect the return hose at the reservoir. Start the engine, let it pump into a bottle. After refilling, turn the wheel fully one way, then the other, to purge any air you may have introduced.

++++++++++

Creaking noise could be a different issue. Could be a lower ball joint or sway bar end link.
