power steering hose

power steering hose

i just got my car back from the shop got a new motor put in and my pwr str pump was making the whining noise i checked and it needed fluid. so i bought the fluid put it in bled the system by turning the wheel lock to lock and put fluid in as needed everything was nice steering nice and smooth as usual. i start driving down the road and im not sure when it did it but it blew the hose off where it connects at the bottom of the motor i bought a new clamp refilled and it did the same thing again i spoke to my mechanic and he told me that after putting the motor in the hose in the the rack had done the same thing and he just put a new clamp in. has this happend to anyone before do i just need a new hose i have steering and suspension class tommrow so im gonna bring it in and see but would like to see if anyone here has had the same prob and what the did to remedy the situation

maybe use the right kind of clamp?
and ck if end of hose is messed up and wont grip tight anymore

I havn't looked at mine to see type of clamp, but chances are its a special one just for high pressure hydraulic fittings..it got lost or damaged in the job so they grabbed a plain screw type unit and installed,,,ooops

If there was a leak for a while, it can swell the end of the hose so it wont latch on tight to allow a good clamping
we have all seen this on aged radiator hoses (on other cars)
