Please Help Im Stumped

on my 99 TL after a recent stereo install I lost my dash lights, all wiring is fine except I have 2 orange with white striped wires labeled dimmer and one from the metra harness thats orange labeled immuination the dimmers are wired up good, the small light and #9 fuse are brand new and not blow yet still no lights, in a older thread I read that a user grounded the illumination wire to the ground wire and it works but each time i do that I blow the small light fuse. Please help its been over a month now and i have tried 1000 different things.

What happens when you disconnect the harness from the radio? Do you get your lights back?

Ill give that a try tonight, I blew the Small Light fuse again last night. After wiring both dimmer wires I was able to keep my odometer and SS light illuminated but no dash lights... Ill take that as a good sign since before hand when I turned the headlights on it would all go black. I dont get why I have only 1 illumination wire from the metra harness with no wire for the radio yet I have a dimmer on both. This blows. Lol.

There should only be 1 dimmer wire connected. like I asked before, what happens when you disconnect the harness. Do your dash lights work?

Correct with the radio out even with the stock re plugged in and fresh fuses still no lights, the Odometer light stays illuminated until i switch my lights on and it too goes black. If it helps I have a pioneer 6 inch double din, dvd bypass, a 500 watt alpine amp and Type R sub woofer. I had this problem a long time ago and it ended up being the small light fuse now it seems it not a fuse isssue. I did the Blue Led cluster swap last year could i have possibly shorted out the LEDS themselves?

No longer blowing fuses, I have the illumination wire and both dimmers undone and nothing at all light wise. Could the leds possibly blown or shorted out when I was experimenting with the illumination and dimmers?
