I have fitted a junkyard door to replace the passenger door that was smashed on my 2000 Acura TL.
Now I realize I need to replace the door lock to match the old key.
I'm trying to take the door latch out of the old door.
I removed the 2 anodized bolts that hold the retaining bracket.
Now what?
There doesn't seem to be a way to lift this assembly out of the door.
It sort of wants to break free but something in the vicinity of the lock is still attached.

What is the correct procedure for removing the exterior door handle and lock?

oh, and that retaining plate wont come off. is it supposed to?
