ok, so i thought i had killed a bulb...so now that i have new bulb's, and have had a chance to check everything out... i find out that my ignitor, or ballast does not work.

i am guessing the ballast is the box screwed to the bottom of the headlight housing, and the ignitor is what the bulb is plugged into.

how do i know which part i need to replace? the ballast or ignitor?

 

start switching them from side to side. if its the ignitor i got 2 for sale.

 

from what i just read....the ballast's should make a buzzing/hissing sound when the light's are supposed to be on...if one isnt buzzing, and the other is...you know which one is bad....i will check that tomorrow.

does anyone know if they even buzz/hiss when they are on? i got that info from a bmw forum, and a lexus forum.

how much are you asking for an ignitor?

 

mine dont buzz or hiss, but i really never pay attention to it. also check the fuse underneath the hood, i had a problem like yours and i check out everything, i searched and searched till someone wrote to check the fuse out. i had a bad fuse.
$25 an ignitor

 

cool, yeah..the first thing i did after finding out that the new bulb still didn't work, was check the fuse.

it was blown so i threw in a new one, and the new bulb still doesn't work.
