Panel Fit

Hello everyone!

My father has given me is 99 TL (he is still driving my 89' Accord S ). He bought the TL about 4 years ago. I noticed that it must have been in a front end collision as there is telltale overspray in places and the front fender panels don't quite fit with the doors. The gaps get progressively narrower the further down you go. I'm totally OK with this except for one issue. The passenger door tends to rub the fender at the point of the bumper strip. Since I think the whole front end is a tad out of whack so adjusting either the door or the fender would be pointless, I am thinking of simply grinding the door metal at that point a mil or two. Any other thoughts, suggestions or advice?

take out the fender bolts and adjust it, at worst you might have to bend it a little, i would not trim down you have to clear coat or paint the surface you cut to avoid rusting

Its already starting to rust because of the rubbing. I'll see what I can do about adjusting the fender but I think its already "fully adjusted".
