Normally fully reliable 99 3.2 TL that I purchased new has 104K on it threw P1753 code when I went to leave for work this morning. Car wouldn't move in D4 but has reverse. Code states "Automatic Transmission Lockup Solenoid A Malfuction." Just looking to see if someone else has had a similar situation and might be able to help.

 

Whats the status? the lock up solenoids on ebay are like $25 each shipped. Not a big investment to swap them out.

You are probably past that now what was it?

 

Test the solenoid first before replacing, By adding 12 volts to the wire and listening for a click.
If it does not click then the solenoid is no good.
Is the D4 light blinking before starting the engine ? If so its definetly a wiring problem, Since you mentioned the car sat for 10 days it may be possible that mice chewed up the wiring to that solenoid.
