P1456 or P1457
Whats up Aziners.. I went to my local Autozone to buy a few things, my CEL has come on in the last few days and they loaned me the diagnostics tool. I believe the code they came back is one of the 2 below. For some reason I only took down 3 of the numbers but they def were 145... Anything I should be looking for, try...?
P1456 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank System)
P1457 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Control Canister System)

P1456 / P1457 codes
Have the codes pulled again. The 1456 could be as simple as a loose or faulty gas cap. The 1457 is more involved, most of the time being the evap purge cannister and purge valve located under the driver's side rear wheelwell area. A search will give you more specific info and pics. Good luck !

do you top off the fuel tank in hot weather,,that will kill the evap cannister

evap cannister
The cannister along with all of it's attached plumbing of hoses and electrical connections for the valving all basically "suck" ! That's their primary task which the emission system was designed to do for our cars. The location of the apparatus exposes it to all kinds of brutal conditions. I'm surprised that they even work as well as they do after 10 years of abuse ! Has anyone come up with a way to get around this ?
