P1259 error code

OK, so last week I took my car into the shop to get an ignition coil replaced because my car was acting weird. The shop told me that the plug was blown out and they had to put in a heli-coil and new ignition coil and spark plug. Not sure if any of that has to do with this but I thought I would include it in case.

Today I was driving down the road, about 400 miles after having the car fixed and I'm passing a car and right as V-Tec is going to engage CEL light engages instead. I was in the middle of a road trip and wasn't able to pull off or anything for another 100 miles once I made it home. When I got home I noticed the idle was a little rough but not awful, and I checked the OBD2 code which displayed P1259, a V-Tec error. What do I do now? I havent been able to find anyone with the same problem as me on here. My car is a 99 with 152K on it. I really don't have the funds right now to take it into the dealership either so thats not an option.
