Just purchased my first Acura; A 2003 TL Type S with 37K. When I got the car the outside temp display was not working, it only shows dashed lines. I searched and the only thing I could find is that it can cause the battery to drain, but no mention of what could be wrong. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Bad sensor, wire.... Thanks in advance and I look forward to learning alot about these cars from all of you!

 

Try to reset it by holding down the two odometer reset buttons and turn the key to on position. I can't remember exactly the combination, but that is how you reset the temperature reader with those two buttons and the key position.

 

You turn the key THEN push the buttons. BUT that doesnt reset the temp. That is how you adjust it.

If its not showing any thing i would look at the temp sensor in front of the radiator and see if its connected, maybe try replacing it.

 

Thanks for the responses. I will look and make sure that the sensor is connected Tuesday afternoon when I get the car back from the body shop. The previous owner parked the car outside and the bumpers were losing some clear coat so I'm having them re-shot.
