Hey guys, this is going to be a very broad question, hopefully I can be as specific as possible, I noticed yesterday, I have an oil leak, not coming from the filter and does not appear to be coming from the oil pan, I noticed it is coming from a location right above the oil pan, what is that area? Does this sound expensive?

Unfortunately I have yet to touch anything on my TL, bought it first week of Jan. My best guess if you have been able to determine that it is "absolutely" not coming from the oil pan, or the filter location, is that it is either coming from up above(like a valve cover gasket, or an oil pressure/sending unit) Not having worked on my car yet, I cannot tell you the location of the sending unit. NOt a huge deal if that is the case, a rather quick and painless fix.

 

i got the same problem with my tl too, mine was leaking from the switch. The bolt with the green connector on the top right above the oil filter. I just got the new o-ring for it and gonna replace it tomorrow, hopefully it'll fix the leaking.
