I was thinking about purchasing a warrenty from an outside company other then Acura, I got a few quotes this weekend all of them really to good to be true, has anyone purchased a warrenty from an outside company? Any suggestions?

 

How many mile do you have? Usually its a waist of money....just read the fine print and you will see. They cover things that don't go bad before the coverage and don't cover the parts that do go bad first.

 

the factory extended warranties are always the best.. Problem with aftermarket warrenties are in a lot of cases, you have to pay upfront for the repair work and wait to get reimbursed (and they usually don't reimburse you 100%, they'll find something they don't feel they're obligated to pay).. In addition to the deductible you have.

 

Thanks guys, Whats the cost usually for an extended warrenty from the dealer? I have 90,000 miles right now and the only warrenty I have left is the tranny warrenty but it will be up in June, so I just want to be covered after that for the tranny and other major parts on the car.

 

extended warranty from a dealer is usually around $1500 for our car. However with 90k miles on you're car, you're beyond the eligibility limits to purchase an extended warranty.

 

Why? If I still have an active warrenty?
