No tranny symptoms outside of shuddering in D5, clean solenoids?
03 Type S
I have a minor problem with shuddering and light bucking in D5 in 5th or so at 20-30mph. Some say its Torque converter related. Changing fluid once helped for a bit, came back. Changed fluid again (first change came out disgusting, might have been some still stuck in TC), and its 90% gone. Car drives mint in D4, no shuddering, I can upshift into 5th at 60+mph
I understand i still might have solenoids gunked up.
Is there a DIY on the solenoid cleaning? Where and what to remove? Please advise.

On 03, there is a external tranny filter you need to replace. Look at the link below. There is also another thread about solenoid cleaning and replacing that you have to search for.

However, the thread with the solenoid, the pictures are taken down. I took it apart and had a hard time figuring it out what was what. Any help would be great.
