no brake pressure?

I noticed earlier at a red light the scent of burning rubber, at first I thought it was comming from the car behind or infront of me. I stopped to get some gas and as I get out of teh car I smell it again? WTF??? I pump my gas turn my car on hit the brake and no pressure?? the pedal goes all the way down to the floor.. I did a quick search but couldn't find a solution. BTW my brake light isn't on...... yet

lets hear it....

A massive leak should cause the brake light to illuminate. Check the reservoir for fluid level in any case.

If no leak and no pedal, I would suspect the MC has failed and is bypassing fluid. It might also be possible for the caliper to lock or drag, and get brake fluid hot enough to boil, which would also cause loss of pedal resistance.

good luck

Were you hard on the brakes just before that?

You could've boiled the fluid, or the pads getting mushy.

Is the pedal still going all the way down after cooling down for a while? If it's not, then I doubt there's a leak.

Ok a little update. I haven't been able to re-produce the problem. Everything seems to be working fine now. No leaks, fluid level is fine.
