New headlight assembly?

It's a long story... but while replacing the low beams on my 2000 TL, I ran into a problem on the driver's side. The part that holds the light in place broke, so do I need to buy a whole new assembly? Right now the light is working & taped in place. Any advice would be appreciated!

I wish I could describe the part! My friend actually was doing it & wouldn't let me near it! He said some pretty shady stuff & we aren't talking. I would take a look, but that side of my car is funny, that's why we had problems in the first place. I don't know cars very well, but there was a rubber piece in the way of the light cover. I couldn't find a way to remove it (I think the piece is suppose to be set lower but for some reason it was right in front of the cover) so when trying to squeeze the light cover up, we broke something (we even moved the car battery to try to make more room!) If I were to go back and look, I'd have to take the bumper off... I know I'll have to take it to the shop, but I was hoping to find out what piece I'd need first.. Wish I had more info, thanks for responding

The rubber piece just pulls off. the plastic cover that covers every thing twists off. Unfortunately if its the metal spring that broke off acura doesnt sell just that for some stupid reason

Hmm, I took off the cover, the other piece you're talking about, the resevoir & the battery. There was some other rubber piece directly behind the light cover that made it so we couldn't move the light cover. After removing the battery, it gave us a little wiggle room to that side, but still not enough behind the light. I looked for a diagram that showed the parts under the hood, but couldn't find the piece I'm talking about. Guess that's beside the point now
If I buy a new assembly, that should fix my problem (if it's the spring?) Also, am I causing harm/risk by driving around with my bulb taped in place?

There's the pic... please don't make me feel too stupid!! (The pic ibe that is the part that's supposed to just lift out? Idk, mine didn't. I'm a girl who know's nothing about cars, lol. My friend knows a little more about cars & he couldn't remove it either? I can't take a pic of the light b/c I can't get to it... If someone can describe how to remove the part that's in the way, I can try to get in there.

The plastic hollow tube is what I was trying to show, lol. That's the part that is in the way. Can it be removed? If not, how does everyone else get the light cover removed?
Thanks again for the help! I might have to take a ride down to IL (j/k.)

just pull up on it and it should come out, might have to move it side to side a bit while pulling up on it.

I tried and tried again, it won't move for me. I guess I don't really need it removed, except to see what broke. And from the replies I've received, it seems like it's a spring that can't be replaced without a new assembly. Guess I'll have to take the loss on this one!
