Need to replace trunk latch motor
Need to replace trunk latch motor
Today my trunk stopped latching shut, and I think I've managed to narrow it down to the trunk latch motor. When I hit the button on my remote, I can hear a faint click, but the motor is stuck in the open position.
It looks to be a pretty easy swap, just buy a new motor and pop it in there. Am I overlooking any possible complications? The remote doesn't link to the motor itself does it? I'm concerned that replacing the motor may mean that I can no longer open the trunk via my remote. I don't think it works that way, but i just want to be sure.
Thanks for your help guys, I really don't want to pay a mechanic to fix something that I'm pretty sure I can take care of myself.

You can do it yourself. The part is about 60 bucks from the dealer. Unplug the motor, unscrew the motor and release the cable from the plastic lever thats it. Dont pay someone to do something that only requires a screwdriver.
