I don't know about the guage or the trunk button, sounds like a fuse maybe. If not the only way to open it is by reaching through the center rest of the back seat and grabbing the lever just below the rear decklid. To get your shifter out of park, you need to place a flat head screwdriver in the park release area to the right of the shifter and kind of pry it at an angle I believe, although I've never had to do it myself. Put a cloth over the end of the screwdriver to just in case you scratch something.

your nuetral safety system is what holds it in park
To override- remove the small tab cover to the right of the shifter handle
use the ignition key (no kidding) and push STRAIGHT down on the release tab and put the shifter in Nuetral- then start car. That lets you drive to get parts.

Often it may be the brake light switch at the brake pedal fails- that locks the system too, its that or the nuetral safety switch- Do you have working brake lights?

Check inside the glovebox for the truck lockout- is it set to LOCK so it cant be opened by the door release- that keeps valet parking out of the trunk- when you lockout the trunk and lock the glovebox
Does it open with the remote? wont open with the emergency release in the trunk?
then its the motor at the trunk lid or the catch at the truck lid

gas guage- that a new one on me- check fuses- visual is not valid, must swap new fuse into suspected spot

Yeah The first occurance came a few days ago and it was a blown brake light fuse! Then Today it was the Trunk and Gas Gauge and I checked the fuse box Between the dash/driver side door, and the Fuse box under the hood and couldnt find any label that represents fuel gauge or trunk so do u know if/where those fuses could be located?

sounds like you blew a fuse.. I did that when i blew out my back window in the Legend I used to own. The rear defrost was tied into the brack light switch and brake lights so the foot switch wouldn't read I depressed the brakes locking me into park.

There is a fuse box on the passenger side dash as well.

But i dont know if its a fuse as there isnt one for just the gas gage. Check all your fuses to make sure.

Thats what i said in my first post. There isnt one for just that gage. If there is a issue with it it may be something else like the sending unit or the gage itself.

the fuel gauge does not have a fuse. it it is not working it is probably the sending unit that goes inside the fuel tank or the gauge. most likely its the sending unit so good luck with that.
