Fell off? If even has a securing bolt!..
If anything odds are that its still plugged somewhere around the engine bay.. Have you searched for it? Any Check Engine codes or anything going bad?

That looks like the variable speed steering shaft opening. (hard to tell from that little area of the pic) Can you take a pic of your trans and where the part in question fell out from?

If thats missing the power steering fluid must be gone along with a pump noise.
Unless its just hanging by the hoses.

being totally ignorant of TL trans externals and going only by other engine/trans:

Does that look like a speedometer cable/drive output -with that gear below it?

This is the best I can do for a photo. The speedometer still works. I can't find anything dangling. I looked for about an hour. It's a bit difficult since my car is in the parking lot of my apartment complex.

The shaft below runs out to the passenger side wheel

I am absolutely dumbfounded as to how this happened. I had this transmission installed about two years ago.

Whats the history on this car ? Year model etc..
It may have a transmission swapped from a premium model.

But then again it looks like 4 speed found in the 99, we need more info.

Well it looks like the whole for the P/S Speed Sensor... But it could DEFINITELY Not just fell off as its secured by more than a couple P/S Tubes and Hard clamps. I bet I will even have a hard time trying to just pulling it off with my bare hands.

Dumb questions but are you even sure you didn't get your trans installed with that hole since the very beginning? how you noticed it was missing? do you recall it was there before?

Hey Blaine97, how did ya come to realize that a part may have fallen off ?
When was the last time that ya actually checked the tranny's bottom to know if the part may have been missing all along since the replacement ?

Is everything else working normally ? If indeed this just randomly happened, one would think that if this recently occurred, ...... it would have some sort of resulting effect.

Are you leaking power steering fluid? Because what goes in that spot connects to 2 power steering lines.

Sorry I've been gone guys! Finally was able to haul my car back to my dad's garage. I checked out my old transmission, found that hole and saw that the hole is plugged in my old transmission. Meaning that the transmission I bought to replace the old one is not the exact same transmission. I know some of the Acura Legends have power steering speed sensors that that mount there.

Apparently the mechanic that installed my transmission plugged the hole, but didn't plug it well enough. I will just machine a part to plug the hole!

Do you have a type-s? If not there is supposed to be something other than a cover there.
