Need help finding thermost at on my car

Need help finding thermost at on my car

I have a 2001 acura tl and it just started overheating on me today both fans work I have no leaks someone did mention that it might be the thermostat thing is I can't find it anyone help me out please????

Remove the lower radiator hose where it attaches to the engine block. Thermostat is in there. (housing has a couple bolts) You can throw it in a pot of water and bring it to boil. If your thermostat doesn't open then it's toast. BTW suspend the thermostat in the water with a string or something - don't let it touch the bottom of the pot.

When you reinstall it make sure the tiny hole is installed up or you'll get air stuck in your cooling system.

When was the last time you replaced your coolant? If the coolant is brown or worse black I would do a flush and refill before fooling with the thermostat. Do the easy solution first.
