Navigation code not working
So I bought a 2003 Acura TLS recently and thankfully the previous owners kept great records of everything so the radio and navigation codes were provided. Radio code worked perfectly although I had to go into an underground parking structure to block the antenna to input the code, but it worked nonetheless. So here's where it gets sticky:
The navi code provided says incorrect pin. Since this is a second generation TL, holding down the "menu, map, cancel" buttons simultaneously does not bring up a different screen so I had no way of verifying the serial number. The fuse box cover had both the serial numbers and codes for navi and radio (radio was correct). So I went on the acura website and input VIN and serial number and got a different navi code than the sticker stated which I thought was strange but yay, right?! No, it didn't work, it said incorrect pin.
So, I thought maybe it had been replaced and they just never updated the records. I took advantage of having to disassemble partial dash and center console when I removed my radio to attempt to fix the 6 CD changer error I was getting (went fabulously btw-thread on that later) and I removed the navi to check the serial number.
It gets stickier...the serial number does not match the fuse box navigation serial number. Ok, so I go back on the Acura website enter the VIN and new serial number obtained from the back of the unit and it gives me another code. Yay, right?! No, this didn't work either.
So I've got two serial numbers, three codes and according to Acura the VIN is a match with both serial numbers otherwise it wouldn't have given me a code, but they all say incorrect pin
Is there a way to maybe reset the actual navi unit, did the previous owner perhaps enter the wrong code too many times and has locked it out completely, even if the code is correct?
Any ideas? Your help would be very much appreciated.

[QUOTE=zeta;16557359]I'm a newbie with the 2G Navi system, so bear with me. I recently had a problem with the Navi system in my project CL-S. With that said, I used Karanx7's 'clock reset' video as a guide to perform a 'forced download' and it corrected my issue. I understand that you may not be able to do the 'forced download' because you can't get passed the Navi code input step; however, maybe trying to eject and than reinsert the Navi DVD (as shown in his video) will help restart the system, in some way, that will trigger it (the Navi) to accept one of the Navi codes you have.
Good Luck!
I will try this tomorrow, good find.

the serial number for the navi is on the navi's DVD module in the trunk; you should use the serial number listed there when going to https://radio-navicode.acura.com/
The serial number on the screen is completely different and not controlled by the PIN.

Problem solved!
Apparently the previous owner replaced the dvd unit but never registered it so they never had access to it and gave up. Acura registered me as the new owner, I sent them photos of all of the serial numbers and they now have the serial numbers linked to my VIN, woohoo! My navigation unit is now working!
Thanks for the hello guys!
