Metallic squeal, front end...

I changed my rotors and pads about 5 months ago and have had a sporadic metallic squeal coming from the front end. Its far more noticeable at slower speeds (almost like pads need to be changed).

There have been no mechanical issues with the car. I have 117k miles on my Type S.

Ideas?

Sometimes I accidentally bend the heat shield, and it rubs on the rotor. Check that and if that's not the case, you may have to take the pads off and look for abnormalities. A cracked pad will also cause a squealing as well...

Thanks, I'll check for the shield. Would anything mechanically cause that squeal? CV Joint, rack and pinion?

Is it happening when you brake?
