IMO: You may be experiencing an issue with the Idle Air Control Valve. I would remove the IACV, thoroughly clean, and reinstall it. After reinstalling the IACV, I would remove the clock fuse, for about 15 seconds, than replace it. Than follow the engine idle relearn procedure. While your in there, You may also want to clean out the throttle body area. Make sure, the engine has the correct spark plugs, by removing one, and checking it's type, and condition. It's possible, the intake manifold may also be "gummed-up, which could also contribute to an erratic idle. If you search this Forum, there is a DIY for the above listed fixes!

I had the same issue and did what frankjnjr says above. Just a few hours of very casually-paced work.
