Ticking noise from engine, sound can be heard inside and outside of the car. Sounds like those ticking sounds on trucks or busses. Also its only when idling not in movement!

Any advice on what it is?

 

Without knowing exactly what you're hearing, I would rule out the purge solenoid (behind the brake fluid reservoir by the firewall, says "Denso" on top). Feel that and/or unhook the connector to see if the sound goes away.

If it's a mechanical sound from the engine, a mechanic's stethoscope can help narrow down where it's coming from.
