I have a 03 TL-S ABP. Beautiful car I may add, but I am noticing too many f_ing small white scratches and those damn little rust spots here and there. I wash my car every Friday religiously. The Paint looks like its just peeling away as time goes by....I notice on the corners of all the panels chipped away paint...It really sux! Solution wise I know I have to get touch up paint and a rust pen for the small rust spots. My biggest concern is why Acura paint sucks so much? My old 2000 Accord's paint did not have this bad of a problem WTF...Does anyone know what Acura was thinking while laying down this type of paint?

 

What type of paint may that be? every one uses teh same stuff (well 2 major brands) its not the paint, but how its , preped, applied, # of layers, and cured. it seems as though there isnt a good bond of the paint, and not many layers (cost cutting im guessing)? My 2000 looks great yet (other than the sand blasted front and few stone chips, but thats to be expected after 188K

 

Yeah cost cutting is what I figured.....It just sucks I try my damnest to keep it to perfection......Call me obsesive but I find myself sitting back and look at my car in detail and make sure I have the luxury clean look....

 

Did you but it new or used? any possibilty it was repainted???

 

No it was not repainted I bought it from a friend a year and a half ago....It's definatly the paint. The average person wouldn't notice these chippings but it bother's me.......

any little nick, it turns white and i have a npb!!!

 

thats what happens when you scuff clearcoat. white scuffs and scratches can be buffed back to a shine

 

im not talkin bout scuff marks, im talkin bout chips meaning missing paint.

 

Yes those DAMN paint chip's suck ballz!!! it's even in areas where a rock couldnt even reach. It's alright though I'm waiting to get about 75K out of the TL and then switch to a RL.
