just got whored

so I have a '99 TL, with roughly 120K on it. I travel a lot, but recently put on an S load of miles. anyways, the dread TCS and check engine light combo came on. long story short dead cat converter, and erg clog. got the quote for 1K to replace/fix everything. told the wife to tell them to do it, not fully knowing what was going on. just got the bill, and for a standard direct fit cat converter I got charge 450 bucks............. just took it straight in the @$$... can find a performance part for 250 shipped TOPS, standard for 100 bucks. sick to my stomach right now for getting WHORED. total bill was 931, 467 was the direct fit converter and parts. disgusting

i wouldnt stress it too much cuz it could of been worse. you could of been charged that much and not gotten any work done on the car. just make sure next time you find out whats exactly wrong before accepting repairs.
