Interior door arm rest opening up

So you can see that the part of the rear door panel is pulled away from the rest of the panel. The other door is also starting to look like this. It came like that when my gf and I got it. How can I fix this the best way to keep it from coming out again. Thanks

I used CA Glue on mine to get them to stop doing that shit. Totally annoying...dumped a bunch of glue in there and held them together by hand.

Use the curtain rod to push in the opening that other member had done. holding it by hand will make a mess.

Which door?

Is it the passenger rear door? If it is, that is the one showing the problem on my wife's 02 TL.

There must have been a common manufacturing problem or vendor.

Thanks for sharing how to fix it.

I got some glue and tried to hold it by hand but it's to hot out and tiring so it didn't really work. I'm not sure what you mean Acutee by using a curtain rod but I'm going to try clamping it down what it's a little cooler out. And yes this is the passenger rear door.

Theres an old thread with pics that shows this. The guy used a shower curtain rod,you know the ones that extend out, between two pieces of wood to hold the armrests together oveenight after he glued them. Eliminates sitting there holding them.
Looks like this. l-----------l the dashes would be the shower rod.

I just did this on my 02 type S, but I did more work than I perhaps needed. I took off the door panel, then took the armrest off of the panel and used C-Clamps. I also took the piece off with the ashtray and the window switch and just clamped the material to the plastic foundation. Seemed to work just as good, I wanted to work with the issue localized and with this method, I was able to use 3 clamps to get more than one contact point

My TL has the same problem with the passenger rear door. I thought about using glue but I think the shower rod will definitely help.

Does anyone know how to tighten the rear view mirror? It is squeaking while I'm driving?
