Is there a DYI process of changing the odometer and thermometer readouts from imperial (miles) to metric (kilometers)?

 

none that i've seen before. it may involve pulling the cluster and swapping the odometer readout with that of a canadian model, although i don't know what kind of devices are in the readout to prevent this from being done by thieves and crooked car dealers.
