Idle valve control. Plz help
Hi guys i have a 2000 tl, i started getting a mild problem about a month ago, on idle mode rpms would start dropping a little, but of course problem escalated and now the rpms are dropping rapidly and car goes off. I gas it a few times to about 3/3.5 thousand and it calms down a little bit. Btw when im driving its as smooth as it should be.
The thing about this is that it does that randomly, but i have to do something about it. I went to my mechanic he confirmed that the problem is most likely the (idle control valve), however he also gave me three codes when he ran the diagnostics; which are 1.) PO700 (70) A/T SYS, 2) PO 301 (71) malfunction misfire n01 and n02. I googled it and its cylinder misfire. So right now im shitting bricks and i dont know what to do.
Plz reply with any help. It would be greatly appreciated

Idle air control valve is under the throttle body. You can remove it and clean it. It's a common problem. It's in the DIY thread.
The misfires are a bad coil pack, usually only one. Get a new coil pack. Reset the ECU by pulling the clock fuse. Then swap out the coilpack. Start with #1 since it's the first one that came up with the code. I forget how the coilpacks are numbered. Search for "coilpack" and you'll find tons of threads on it.
If the CEL comes back, reset it again and go to the next coil pack.

Fix your miss fire issue then reset the ecu. See if any codes come back. By your description i dont think you have a IACV issue. If you did your RPMs would most likely be bouncing up and down, your issue of it dropping to low like that kinda make me think its a Throttle Position Sensor
