Question I need help!!!

I have a 2G TL and when I'm on the highway and I stomp on the gas it doesn't pass 3-4K rpm and it doesn't hit VTEC like it used to do? what happened?

also on triptronic mode it hits vtec normally just not on d mode its weird?
whats going on? could it be cause its winter and its too cold? or do I need a tune up or anything the car doesn't pull hard like it used to and its at 310km

Sounds like a transmission issue to me.
Is the the check engine light on ?
Even if its not have it scanned, could have stored codes.
Take it easy on the pedal, these trans are weak.

The scanner can give clues so you can have an idea where to look.

Lol, you won't run into problems like that because "it's too cold". This actually means there's something wrong with the car and you should diagnose it ASAP.

Based on your description, it could also be a restricted catalytic converter.

Do a bulb Check on the dash, you should see the check engine light illuminate on with the key on position II but with out starting the engine.
If you don't see it then its burned out or pulled out, Let us know what you find.

Hey... I agree with this diagnosis. Do you feel the car has lost power? When you hit it, you hear the engine trying but the car is really sluggish, then I think the catalytic converter is the issue. I recently diagnosed this on a friend's car and sure enough it was

The OP says that on ss mode it works fine. Wouldnt it be the same issue for both D5 and ss.

Okay, well I tried it on the street it hits vtec at 4k rpm but like on the highway I feel like the car is struggling to reach 100 km/h like so much power is loss.. and I hear a little sound under the car like air is coming out or something.. and a Protege 5 hatch even beat me 0-50km/h doesn't pull like it used too I don't think its the transmission cause gears dont slip or anything.

But on the highway I can floor it at 100 km/h for example and keep flooring for 5 more seconds for it to build up speed... you guys are probably right the Cat Converter cause I hear a sound under the car my guess its the Cat.. how much to fix this problem? I'll try to get it scanned too!

Sure, if possible show the start up while recording the dash lights so I can see the lights on the dash.
It can be the converter but you need to be sure before spending any cash.

many muffler shops will test the cat for free by pointing an infrared temp scanner at it
avail hft 25$ good for many things
there is also a pressure test for them to confirm
In Ca shops have to document if failed and cause on cat replacements
Banging on the cat with a mallet can tell you if its crumbled inside, that would clog it on hard flow

basic cat 100 bucks, to hi flow super unit from excelerate -~300?
with high flow cat you have to add a spacer to the o2 sensor- 10 bucks at parts store

Fatty is right VTAK doesnt engage at 4K to beggin with..
My bet would be a faulty engine oil pressure sensor for the VTEC issue and the lack of power well... Clogged Injectors!
