How many turns before it starts?

In both warm and cold weather, my TL-S 2002 takes between 4-7 turns (i.e. vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, start 5-turns). One key turn but I am forced to hold it. The Civic 1998 takes 3 max! Any ideas on this or is this a normal thing for the TL?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah my TL takes 2 "cranks" to start regardless of temperature.

i am in a similar boat as you, warm or cold she may take a few extra turns, my battery is new also, but once she starts for the first time of the day i she turns over a tad sooner the rest of the day.

If it doesn't start in 2 cranks it is not normal. There are so many things you will have to look at. spark plugs, egr, fuel injection, fuel pump, Fuel line, air filter, battery, battery connection, type of fuel, throttle, hose leaking, etc. You have a better idea what is wrong because you know the history of your car. you might want to think back when it happened.

Might want to also try this:

Turn ignition to position II (just before you crank it) and wait about 5 seconds, then crank the engine. See if that helps.
