dammit..then I have to figure out a way to get better mileage. I've already ran through fuel injector cleaner, replaced air filter, plugs, etc. Always have proper tire pressures....arrrggghh.

My last two tanks of mostly highway driving yielded:

339.6 miles using 13.21 gallons --> 25.7 MPG

and

264.9 miles using 10.09 gallons - -> 26.3 MPG

These results are for a 1999 TL with 178,000 miles running 93 Octane.

I've very happy with those MPG numbers but I've also seen 22 to 24 MPG with less freeway driving.

Whoops. I typed 93 octane above but I'm pretty sure that it was actually 91 octane.

I always go to gas stations which are the newest or look like they have been remodeled. A lot of stations have small water leaks; meaning that when it rains, some of the rain falls into the gas lines. The repair is usually costly so many owner do not fix it until it gets extremely bad.

I've got a 2000 TL with 154,000 miles. There are no mods to the car. I've run both premium and mid-grade. I haven't experimented with regular because I don't want to tempt detonation. I notice no appreciable difference in mileage between the two. As long as the tire pressures are at spec and I don't drive over 75-80 mph, I still get 30-32 mpg. Since I live in southern Arizona, I always drive with the AC on.
