My 01tl'S tranny is on the way out would a Idk be a good choice?

how would you get that? acura wont sell a brand new trans

the choices are rebuild yours locally
or acura wants $4000-5000 installed for the trans, most of that is the parts cost
and its a swap in unit, with the improved case design and better yadayadas
contains good used and some new parts

 

Avail. from various locations online, no?

 

I believe there are online sellers of complete rebuilt trans- but not brand new units-
that I have heard of on here,,my only source for all news acura~

 

there is no such thing as a JDM transmission. USDM TL and JDM Inspire/Saber use the same transmission. There is no difference.

 

Aren't assembled in the US, anyways?

 

Same transmission, same design flaw, same problem down the road...

 

Is there a list of differences between USA spec and the one sold in Japan?

 

will you just figure out if the dealer is going to be able to get some goodwill for you-
or go to a local rebuilder if thats the option

they are not building new trans you can waltz in and buy,,well at least not for less than several grand~
and for a 2 gen old car,, and trans thats not used anymore in new models?????

acura expects our cars to be headed for the recycler soon!
