Hissing noise while engine is gaining rpms
When either in nuetral or in drive when i give it gas it makes a hissing noise..like a air leak. Im thinking it might be an injector but there is no gas smell. Anybody else had this problem? I have an 03 tl-s

is it loud or just subtle. Do you hear it with heavy throttle or just light
Or is this the same whining noise you hear that you think is from the tranny

It is a different noise than the one from the tranny. It does it the whole rpm range and if i were to "rev it up" in nuetral it does it going up and down the rpms. Might be an injector o-ring

Doubtfull. Try listening under the hood while reving or ideling to see if you can start to locate the area.

This sounds like what I have but ONLY when the AC is turned on. Goes away when off: Whirring from the engine that gets worse as engine speed increases. Did you ever get the results from your problem?

OK dunno if you're still having this problems but heres a possibility.
I took out my IM a few months back to clean the EGR valve. Normal right? I hooked everything back up correctly, double checked, all safe and sound. The past two months I've heard the SAME sound, especially in the higher RPM's. Ignored it figuring it was due to me missing 1 of the bolts on the Plenum cover. Turns out, while I was detailing my engine yesterday, 1 of the hoses connected to the black piping that's connected to the TB had somehow slipped off. Its was the tube that just slips onto a smaller metal tube thats built into the intake piping. This small tube im talking about connects to the engine right below the TB. See if its the same problem for you.
Sorry if that was confusing, but I tried to make sense. If not I'll post up a picture tomorrow.
