HID's different color?

Both of my low beams are different colors. The passenger one is a nice bright looking bluish white and drivers side seems to be a little dimmer purple color. I re-aimed the headlights tonight and it seemed to help my visability but the two colors is bugging me. Is it in the bulbs or do i have 2 different balasts? Or maybe is one getting weak?

Perhaps you have 2 Different Bulbs!

Theres a Reason why we buy Bulbs in Pairs! They must Die Evenly so they will have to die in a reasonable Shift in Color, OEM 4300K starts to look Pinkish (1/3 Life Left) then turn into Purple (Fully Dead)... My first OEM set died that way, Evenly.
But if you have a Good Bulb and another one dead and You didnt change a bulb well its just wierd...

In any case just replace Both Bulbs and Call it a Day.
If the Ballast was wrong they would not even Turn On, Or just Flicker. Nothing to do with a Change of Color tough....

Thanks! I'm new to hids, New to Acuras too. Just bought the car a week ago. I'm trying to fix up the little things I've found wrong.

Yeah, Skirmich is right on !

I tried to skimp on replacing both at the same time, because of the driver's side being a bit more difficult to replace in the middle of winter outside. Odd look from the lights, ended up replacing other one and all was well !

The yellow...pink...and purple hues are usually indicating the end of life for the bulb. Depending on the replacement that you choose, it's best to buy a quality pair of the same brand for that original bright white "HID" light.

In my opinion, the more blue ones tend to only just bug other drivers and really don't serve much purpose, other than to draw unwanted attention.

Yea, I want the clean white look. I'd like to do the amber reflector removal out of the headlight assm. Among other things. Trying to find somewhere local that carries the wedge LEDs for the dash too.

for you since you plan to mod the housings,
and most of us= the best option is replace entire hid system parts
water gets in the headlight lens and kills electrical parts

www.hidextra.com is a vendor and excellent supplier for ziners
kit with 2 new ballast 2 bulbs and 2 ignitors is 59$!!! half of what others who buy their stuff and resell it get~

suggest 5000k bulb for closest to stock,,nice white to see stuff on road with
I had 6ks and switched to 5s for better viz

typical age death is pink purple tint at startup
all of us have enough age and hours on the bulbs to need new ones
