ok so this is what happends:

I leave the headlights running and lock the car with the remote. Everything is fine. When i return to the car to unlock it, both headlights usually turn on signifying that the car is unlocked, but lately the passenger headlight just flickkers and shuts off. yesterday when i do the same thing the headlight doesnt even turn on. but if i start the car both headlights are functional. so what could be the problem?

 

If you get a pink tint as they first turn on- thats death warning from the bulb
You may have a ballast or ignitor issue though
What are you really driving- miles etc?
Still any warranty from the dealer left on lighting?

 

they dont go pink or anything. got about 102K and there isnt any warranty

 

Sounds like the lamp. When HIDs get old the tips between the arcs grow apart and it takes more power to ignite. The battery doesn't always supply enough juice compared to the alternator. Easy way to check would be to swap the lamps and see if it happens on the other side.

 

I had the same issue after wiring my HIDs for my foglights. I had tapped a different fuse under the dash and everytime i would unlock the car with the lights on, the right side would flicker.

Did you have anything else wired? After I retapped my wire for my fogs, it fixed the flickering problem.

 

Check that the igniter is seated correctly over the bulb.
