Hesitation Issues

I have a 2003 acura tl type s. The car runs great however I do experience some intermittent hesitation issues. It normally occurs at highway speed (60-65 mph) and while my foot is slightly depressed to basically resting on the gas pedal. It never happens with my foot off the pedal or coasting nor does it occur with my foot pushing down. I do not believe it is a tranny issue as the RPM's don't waiver. I have also cleaned everything possible.

I thought I read something similar to this some time ago and the diagnosis was a computer issue? Does anyone have a clue as my mechanic is struggling to find anything because it happens so infrequently and all the scans come up clean.

By the way no check engine light has ever come on.

Appreciate some advise.

more than 75kmiles?
have your guy read the egr cleaning section- have to remove intake manifold and use solvent and wire rod/coat hanger to clear out the egr passageway and ports-
they clog and mess up running

other odd things to check- front and rear motor mounts are vacuum boosted- if one breaks it creates a mystery miss
front mount often breaks after 60kmiles-very common problem and hard to tell from driver seat
have tech look for signs of strange oil loss from bottem side of mounts

does it do it on cruise control?

you cleaned everything?
seafoam thru gas or manifold? or what product to get injectors clean and remove carbon from everywhere
e10 gas messes up our engines
running 91 or higher all the time?

replaced the spark plugs yet?

Yes, the car has 109K miles. The EGR has been cleaned, plugs replaced and according to my mechanic, the mounts looked good. Haven't tried it on cruise - what if it does and what if it doesn't?

Thanks for the advise.

Hi,

Cleaned the EGR. I did not try Seafoam but have tried fuel and injector cleaners. Do have new plugs and do run premium at all times. Mechanic didn't seem to think it was an injector but he may have missed something.
I'll try the Seafoam - 1/2 tank of gas? Its worth a try.

Thanks for the help!

If it was a mount, wouldn't I experience engine vibration? I am not having this problem.

a bad mount is rarely found by the driver
its a tech who knows to look for fluid traces and sunken mount

did the intake manifold get removed for the egr cleaning- that has to be done right- done halfway leaves you with problems

correct plugs are in it?
