Help please...cannot find answer to this tranny question
Background:
A few days ago I noticed a high pitched whine coming from the front left side of my engine when decelerating. I took it in to the dealer today for service and mentioned it and they confirmed the tranny was dying....again. I had the tranny replaced about 4 years ago and was told that the warranty on the replacement tranny was only for 3 years.
Question:
1) If the tranny was replaced when the car had ~60k miles, does that void the 109,000 VIN warranty extension? I ask because my car has ~105k miles on it right now and I feel like even if the 2nd tranny failed it should still be replaced under the 109,000 warrany extension.
Thoughts?

You are still under the mileage limit. What year is it? If your car is within time limits too then you should have no problem getting the transmission replaced free. If you're over on time you still might get covered. It just all depends on the service manager's willingness to go to bat for you. My car got covered even though I was over the time limit. I was still way under the mileage limit so they were able to get me a goodwill transmission.

. I was just quoted $3100 plus tax too. I am not sure what to do. Who has that kind of money laying around?Sadly, this will be my last car from Acura.

Who at the dealer? Did you call Acura cust. care & ask them? If not, spend a little time & read on this forum for advice before you call.
You might get partial coverage.
