help! i have condensation in my headlight

hello all! i recently purchased an 03 tl and found that the ballast was flooded with water, thus the driver's side low beam headlight doesn't work. i have purchased a new assembly and had it installed (yesterday) and today after it rained all day i noticed condensation in the new assembly. thank goodness i haven't purchased the ballast yet. can anyone tell me what's going on and how i can fix this issue. many thanks

You have water in the new one? I think bad luck is causing that to happen. I'd talk to whoever you bought it from.

Yea you def got fucked with the headlight and got a bad one.

Where did you get it from?

Your ballast will probably out now. It costs ~$160 to replace it.

You can go about this 2 ways:
1. Remove the headlight, open it up, clean the inside, and then seal it back up tight.

Here is a thread to help with that if you take this route:

or

2. Buy a new headlight. Either from Acura or eBay. Acura will be OEM but it is pricey and eBay has a lot of Depo light and few OEM. The difference between OEM and Depo is that Depo doesn't have the same cutoff line as the OEM headlight.

If the ballast does out then you need to find one in a salvage yard, on eBay ( they are hard to come by), or buy one at Acura.

Even though you may not want to hear this I would go to Acura for the ballast.

Depo headlights is not bad for the price of a new pair; quality is as good as oem. as least it is not known of being leaked like oem. not everything oem is good. If money is tight, get aftermarket HID and use your existing headlight, call it MOD. there is no need to make it perfectly oem.

Did you buy just the headlight and get it installed without a ballast? If so, that could be the problem because then there would be an open hole on the bottom of your assembly letting water/condensation to form.

Like one of my threads I mentioned, the culprit is the ring seal between the headlight housing the the ballast. I am sure the bad ballast is still there and was not replaced with a good one yet.
