Hi,

I just got a 2000 TL, and the backlight for the Driver information in the gauge is out. Interestingly, it seemed to go out at the same time as the lights on the shifter (lights that light up P R N D etc)

Took it to the dealer and they said it may be a faulty gauge but they aren't sure. and to change it, it would cost me 500 bucks for the parts along and like 80 bucks per hour labour till they find it.

I question that as if it was just the gauge problem, why would the lights on the shifter go on and out at the same time of the back light?

Anyone have a clue. I just want to make sure I identify the problem before take it in. Acura has great cars, but not the service. Appreciated.
