Hey, I went to AutoZone and got my code. P1739 popped up. Also checked my transmission fluid and it was black, not a hint of red was in the fluid. Any help will be gladly taken. Oh yea, I beleive the print out said something about a third clutch switch failed.

 

Okay, so I did some research within' the forum and found out what code P1739 is. Any code that begins with P17xx is a transmission code. Anyway, code P1739 means there is a problem in ur 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch Circuit. It might be something wrong with the wiring on the PCM connector B (25P) or replace the 3rd clutch pressure switch. All praises go to Pdprich.

 

I'm still wonderin' why my transmission fluid was black, any suggestions.

 

How many miles? Should be changed @ 60k and every 30k thereafter (if memory serves). Mine was black and burnt when I changed it. Just heat and wear in the tranny.

The car currently has 75,000 on tha' odometer. It was last serviced at 66,000 and of course its had its regualr oil changes every 3,000 miles. How black? BLACK...not even a hint of red, my friend.
