Heater
Hey ! I did a search but did not come up with anything. I have a 02 TLS and wondering how the heat is in the TLs. I had a accord before and the heat was awesome. My wife has a 04 MDX and that is working great to. I dont know if i have a problem or this is just the way they are. I have heat but nothing to write home about. Live in Minnesota so i need good heat. I guess im just looking for opinions on this. I can drive for 30 min and it starts to get confortable in the car but on my wifes MDX i have to turn the heat down if i had it on high that long. Thanks, F1

the heat in my 03 TLS is still pretty strong. it was 9 degrees F this morning and it only took about 10-15 min of driving for the car to get comfortable.
its no new car though so i still had to put the heat on full blast and set it at 85 deg to get it there.

if you have normal engine temp on guage, you have full access to 200 degree heat!!
If its not getting hot air thru to you:
ck/replace cabin air filter- should be done every year!!
ck/clean blower fan of dust and whatever is living in there~
use shop vac for fast results
ck blower duct motor door operation
ck radiator is full- coolant right percentage for your climate?, rad cap is good,
res bottle is at full cold mark (about halfway) and the rubber hose inside cap is on securely

once you have run defrost and are on the road, shut defrost Off, set auto temp to 78f
that should blast the car pretty fast,,then lower it to 71-72
there is a dead spot around 70-72 you may have to play with to find your setting to maintain warm
on seat heat: use high for a few minutes until warm, 3-5 minutes and mine is roasting-
then switch to low for duration of trip- that allows it to use thermostat to get rest periods for the heater wires in seat

There is also a mix valve that is under the hood near the firewall that is cable operated. Have someone slowly adjust the heat control from full cold to full hot and see if you can see it pull and move the valve (towards the passenger side) #1 in the pic
