Headlight short problem
When I turn on my on my low beam headlights on, my driver side low beam is dim along with both my high beams. It's as if they're all connected. My passenger side low beam works fine. There's no effect on my driving/fog lights. I tried to replace the ballast but it no effect. Could it be the headlight relay switch?

do the lows work without the highs?
or they all work together regardless of switch postition?
thats a switch issue
Go ahead and swap relays of lights with one of same color..always test each thing!
weak lights are likely bad ground,,there are the main battery cables and several small frame to engine grounds that do decay and cause probs
Clean all grounds you can find
acura sells a ground kit for 20 bucks
also ck battery condition, voltage and ability to take a load and accept a charge from alt
batt POS cable can be bad too
if there was blue crud growth on batt terminals- ends of wires,,,thats a good hint all needs cleaning,, or new wire
you may also need new hid low beam parts,,we all do eventually
Moisture inside lens of housing = drips out and kills ballast
May contribute to current light prob as system shorts out
if thats diagnosed get a $59 kit from www.hidextra.com
they sponsor azine and have a good product for dirt cheap

a used ballast rarely cures light prob
if its even a good part,,the ignitor is fried or there are more probs
thats why I suggest whole system replacement

I swapped the relays and there were no changes. When I switched on the high beams, the passenger side headlight along with passenger side high beam switched on and both the driver side high and low beam were off. I also noticed that the high beam indicator light didn't light up in the dash. This doesn't sound like the ballast but probably the switch. The battery terminal wasn't all that bad. Not pristine but definitely not caked up with oxidation.

I wonder if my ballast test was done correctly. I connected an aftermarket ballast to the wiring harness. When I flipped the headlights on, I had the same issue described before. Now I wonder if my connection to the harness was wrong. Should I have used a the power leads going to the mfr ballast?

you need to use the ballast power for that side
